2022 Season

A Doll’s House, Part 2

Fifteen years have passed since Nora walked out on her husband and children in a desperate attempt to become her own person. What life has she led as a single woman in the late 19th century, and how will her husband react to her return?

Godspell

A small band of characters help Jesus Christ tell various parables to spread his message of
kindness and love in this lively musical. Features beloved numbers such as “Prepare Ye the Way
of the Lord,” “Turn Back, O Man,” and “”Day by Day.”

Blithe Spirit

When a socialite novelist, Charles Condomine, enlists an eccentric medium to conduct a séance to gather information for a new book, the ghost of his first wife is inadvertently summoned. Life becomes hilariously difficult for Charles as she continuously strives to disrupt his current marriage.

The Music Man

This classic upbeat musical tells the story of a charming con-man who blows into a small town and convinces them that he will teach all the children to be musicians, if only the parents will buy his instruments and uniforms. The prim librarian sees through his shenanigans, but falls for him anyway due to his kindness towards her kid brother.

Moon Over Buffalo

This fast-paced comedy centers around a married couple, George and Charlotte Hay, who are actors in a traveling troupe. While Charlotte dreams of Hollywood stardom, George is convinced that the stage is superior. The two bicker, and all of the characters are caught up in the wacky hijinks that ensue. Adult themes.

Death of A Salesman

This Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning drama features traveling salesman, Willy Loman. He is getting on in years and is unable to feel anything but disappointment about his life. Although he has a loyal, loving wife and two sons, he sees their failures to live up to his ideals as his failure to achieve The American Dream.

Cabaret

Set in 1929-1930 Berlin, this energetic musical focuses on the happenings at a seedy nightclub, The Kit Kat Klub – specifically the relationship between an American writer and one of the performers, Sally Bowles. The club’s Master of Ceremonies oversees the action while the club’s musical numbers highlight the ominous political developments going on outside. Adult themes.

Disney’s Beauty And The Beast

A “tale as old as time” that features Belle, a beauty from a provincial town, and a terrifying beast, who is actually a prince under a curse. The beast must learn to love and be loved before time runs out, or he and his whole household will be cursed forever. This spectacular musical is a treat for the whole family.

Went to see Carrie the Musical. Very talented group, and I loved the theatre itself.

We've seen several slows at this theater and have always enjoyed them. The acting has always been good and the sets and costumes are well done. The theater itself is well designed so you won't get a bad seat. I do recommend arriving early as it is tricky to find parking.

I saw Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (CATCF) at Theater Denton on Sunday. What a fun way to spend a couple of hours on a hot summer day. Cool theater off the square. Much of it in its original glory. The over all production was fantastic. The singing, acting and the MUSIC 🎵, all exceeded my expectations. The music was exceptional. Such talented artists. A friend of mine played violin in the performance. She played beautifully. I was actually moved to tears during the show as I was transported back to fond memories of my youth, and to my childhood memories of CATCF. Our seats were perfect for viewing characters across the stage. I didn’t see a bad seat (obstructed) in the house. Parking - Denton can be tricky, especially The Square, and weekends. Come early so you’re not stressing over finding a spot (like I did). They sell snacks and beverages (alcoholic & nonalcoholic) at the concession store. They take cash and credit cards. There’s a cute little WONKA CANDY SHOP spot for photo ops inside the lounge. Candy props and all! Final thought- I expected the theater to be freezing inside. It wasn’t. It was cool enough inside to make me forget about the extreme heat outside. ☺️ This was my first time attending a show at Theater Denton. I’m looking forward to the upcoming shows I’ll see next.

My husband and I enjoyed the production of Jesus Christ SuperStar. Wonderful community production with an extremely talented cast! We also loved the historical theater and the vintage vibe. Free parking was easier to find than we expected!

We love seeing shows at Campus as well as at the Annex at the mall. I would recommend y'all set up a separate Google listing for your mall location with location details for out of towners. Specifically letting them know about the back door entrance & parking. It will go a long way in getting the word out about entertainment options on that side of town if it pops up in google & map searches!
