Students will reenact classic children’s stories, play theatrical games, pantomime, sing, dance and act. They will learn to develop physical expression, characterization, social skills, teamwork, memorization, and an understanding of classic stories. 8-week session culminates in a showcase performance.
Noon-1:30 pm Acting 1 (ages 8-11)— Sensational scenes
Students will explore how to apply a backstory to the characters that they are creating while working on contemporary and classical scenes. Students will apply their performance abilities in a safe and playful environment. 8-week session culminates in a showcase performance.
10-11:30 am Acting 2 (ages 12-17)— Rock the audition
Students will learn to select an audition song and monologue, analyze and interpret the source, and use character work to enhance their storytelling. 8-week session culminates in a showcase performance.
Noon-1:30 pm Technical Theatre (ages 12-17)— CostumingStudents will learn basic costume design techniques such as color, texture and pattern and will use that knowledge to show character in the design of costumes for a play of the students’ choice. 8-week session culminates in a showcase presentation.
